Basic Information

Name: Gardens Filecoin Growth Fund Pilot

Theme/Category: Governance

Description of your project: Gardens is a community governance platform for allocating funds using conviction voting - a continuous, time-weighted voting mechanism that surfaces genuine community priorities securely and intelligently.

Over 150 communities are growing on Gardens, spanning ecosystems that include Safe, Gnosis, Gitcoin, Celo Public Goods, and Superfluid DAO, with $200k+ in total value allocated to date. Our platform uses onchain Covenants to align communities around shared values and conviction voting to enable bottom-up, participatory funding decisions that resist common DAO failure forms like last minute vote swings, voter apathy, and sentiment manipulation.

Problem Statement*

For this round, what question, gap, or opportunity are you addressing, and why does it matter for Filecoin?

Web3 ecosystems have struggled to find effective methods for targeted, agile, community-led allocation of smaller grants ($2-10k) that don't warrant full governance overhead. This creates several problems:

  1. Slow capital deployment for time-sensitive growth opportunities
  2. Centralized decision-making bottlenecks that limit ecosystem diversity
  3. Low token holder participation in ecosystem governance beyond major votes
