The Big Idea: God meets our fear with faithful love.
We all long to feel close, but many of us are scared of being left or being hurt again. In this message from our “Attached” series, we look at two insecure attachment styles: the “clingers” who hold on too tight, and the “stingers” who push people away. Using real-life stories, songs, and Scripture, we see how our brains learn these patterns and how God meets both types with faithful, gentle love. You’ll discover that you’re not stuck with your attachment style—and that with Jesus, you can grow toward a secure, healthy way of loving and being loved.
Main Thought:
God created you for connection—with Him and with people. Wanting to be close isn’t weak; it’s part of His design in you.
From the very beginning, God said it was not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). We are made in God’s image. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in perfect relationship. That means being relational is part of God’s DNA—and yours too.
That’s why relationships feel so important. And it’s also why they can hurt so much when they go wrong. Your desire to belong and be known is not a flaw. It’s part of how God wired you.
As Pentecostal believers, we also know the Holy Spirit lives in us and connects us to God and to each other. The Spirit doesn’t only give us power; He also gives us love and unity.
Key Verse:
“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…’”
