<aside> 🪷 This space is dedicated to casual essays and fanfiction (pairing: Gintoki x Hijikata) related to Gintama. In the future, I also plan to try creating fan art. Thank you for visiting, and I hope you find joy here.

👋 Hello, I'm Ivy, and welcome to my little creative corner. My first memory of Gintama is a bit hazy—perhaps it was from meeting the character Ginpachi-sensei in an anime magazine, or maybe it was an unexpected encounter while browsing for anime to watch. But it was Sakata Gintoki’s line, "Poverty is like rhinitis, it doesn’t just go away overnight," that instantly resonated with me, a long-time rhinitis sufferer, and pulled me into the world of Gintama. The series is hilariously absurd yet often carries profound life lessons. Its worldbuilding is wildly imaginative, and even though the later plotlines felt a little loose, it stayed true to its essence and reached a satisfying conclusion. To me, it’s still an irreplaceable gem. As for the Gintoki x Hijikata pairing, it’s the one I’ve decided to ‘settle down with’. I stumbled upon a fan comic site during my university years and was completely captivated. Years later, when I reconnected with the fandom on Weibo, my love for this pairing hasn’t faded one bit. After enjoying so many fan creations, I felt inspired to try creating some myself. The two characters are perfectly matched, richly developed, and share delightful interactions. Their emotional journey in the original series feels complete, and Gintama’s limitless, anything-goes stage provides endless possibilities for fan works. This is likely why, years after the series ended, fans continue to love and create for this pairing. In short, I’m thrilled to be a fan creator and to connect with fellow anime and manga enthusiasts like you here. May this passion continue to shine brightly!
