What's this about?
When you’re new to a team, it’s natural to feel hesitant to make use of different employee benefits, perks, and working arrangements that exist to improve your employee experience. But we want you to be supported and empowered to feel and perform your best at work!
That’s why we wanted to be ultra-explicit from day one about common hesitations that may hold us back from working well and enjoying our working setup.

In No Particular Order, It’s Okay To:
Question, Challenge, and Disagree Constructively
- Ask ‘too many’ questions — ask questions you think are silly; ask questions to clarify questions you’ve already asked; ask questions that might be answered in the handbook.
- Ask for help prioritising work if you feel stuck or overwhelmed — experiment with different time management tools and techniques to find what works for you.
- Ask for help switching off — it’s hard to know when to shut down laptops (especially when working from home; and especially when working through lockdown).
- Not know everything — you’ll learn more every day. You’ll know things others don’t know. We’re all committed to continuous learning here!
- Challenge the ‘popular’ opinion — blanket ‘yesses’ don’t evoke innovative thinking; willingness to challenge and be challenged is a valued trait on our team.
- Disagree constructively — with feedback; with directions; with opinions. Here’s how.
