Reprogramming AI in APAC; our thesis and partnership opportunities

Introduction

AI is moving faster than ever. The gap between hype and reality has never been wider, especially amongst the broader APAC community that still struggles to cut through the noise, believing we are still too far behind to reap the fruits of AI’s labour.

This misinformed consensus stalls widespread development and adoption from ignorance and fear of uncharted waters. The majority of APAC will be in the dust as the rest of the world moves ahead, despite real technical progress and innate opportunities in the region.

So we’re taking back the narrative and recreating our spaces for innovation.

First Prompt is the initiative bridging AI in APAC; we are building the rooms where operators, businesses and AI pioneers converge in APAC, driving deeper conversations, broader adoption and ecosystem development for the region.

Partnered with the likes of OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Alibaba, AWS, Moonshot AI, Agora, Airwallex, Notion and more, we are going to make a change for APAC’s future.

It eventually spun out into its own entity to address the larger AI gap for not just individual operators, but startups, enterprises and AI giants driving adoption in APAC.

Thesis

Distribution is the gap, not Knowledge.

We are not lacking in information; we are drowning in it. In a sea of rapid and radical developments, we are experiencing an information overload at a breakneck pace rather than a lack thereof.

The knowledge exists, but it is not curated and does not have the right channels to reach its intended audiences to make change happen.

In a sea of other (AI) initiatives, we build the right rooms where the right people purposefully converge.

By the right rooms, we mean spaces that are open rather than binding.

By the right people, we mean people with qualified agency.

By purposefully converge, we mean connections built by design.
