Mysteries of the Drift

What happens if I forget my Vault PIN? Alas, you must consult the grumpy gnome who guards the Vault. As we mentioned in the Sacred Scrolls, he refuses to help with forgotten PINs, citing 'ancient pacts of memory.' We suspect he just enjoys being difficult. In short: please, for the love of all that is digital, do not forget your PIN. We cannot recover it for you.

If I delete the app, are my memories lost to the void? Indeed, they are. Think of your device as a tiny, personal island where your memories live. We, the developers, are on a completely different continent. When you delete the app, you essentially sink your island. All the data goes with it. We have no boats, no submarines, and no way to retrieve it. So, before you press that delete button, make sure you've exported anything you wish to save!

Why is the app called 'Drift'? Legend has it that the idea for the app was found in a message in a bottle, drifting ashore on a digital sea. It spoke of a need for a quiet place to let one's thoughts drift without judgment. We liked the sound of that. It's also possible we just thought it sounded cool. The truth, much like a drifting bottle, is elusive.

Is my data safe from... squirrels? An excellent and vital question. As stated in our Terms, we are aware that squirrels are likely plotting something. While your data is stored locally on your device, we cannot guarantee its safety from a particularly determined squirrel with a tiny, acorn-powered hacking device. We advise keeping your phone away from suspicious-looking trees.

Who are you, the developers? We are a small coven of code-wizards and pixel-sorcerers, fueled primarily by strong coffee, existential dread, and the quiet satisfaction of a bug well-squashed. Our mission is to create small, delightful corners of the internet where people can simply be themselves.
