Regenerative fashion - expert panel 3

After our very successful panels on Agroforestry and Regenerative Agriculture, we gathered the Climate Farmers Community for another Panel Discussion. This time with a special focus on Regenerative Fashion.

The fashion industry is the second biggest polluter in the world: It causes 10% of global emissions, more than international flights and maritime shipping combined! However, things can look different when applying regenerative agriculture. Take organic, regeneratively grown cotton: it has a 91% lower water consumption, it is grown from non-GMO seeds and without the use of pesticide, insecticide or fertilizer.

In the conversation, we wanted to go through the amazing potential of the fashion industry to shift from one of massive destruction to one of regeneration. We looked at the systemic levers to make a difference in that major system.

🗣 PANEL GUESTS:

• Rebecca Burgess (executive director of Fibershed, chair of the Board for Carbon Cycle Institute) • Aroa Fernandez Alvarez (co-founder of Centre for Regenerative Fashion and Trace Collective)
