For the launch event of Climate Farmers, we invited Patrick Worms, Richard Perkins and Benedikt Bösel for a discussion about the systemic levers necessary to shift the agricultural system towards one of regeneration. Listen in and let us know what you think.
In this video, we are talking about systemic changes necessary to scale agroforestry.
🗣 PANEL GUESTS:
• Dr. Paul Wöbkenberg of the Regenerative Agriculture program at Ecosia • Linda Preil, Head of Rubber Projects at einhorn
• Patrick Worms, President of the European Agroforestry Federation
After our very successful panels on Agroforestry and Regenerative Agriculture, we gathered the Climate Farmers Community for another Panel Discussion. This time with a special focus on Regenerative Fashion.
The fashion industry is the second biggest polluter in the world: It causes 10% of global emissions, more than international flights and maritime shipping combined! However, things can look different when applying regenerative agriculture. Take organic, regeneratively grown cotton: it has a 91% lower water consumption, it is grown from non-GMO seeds and without the use of pesticide, insecticide or fertilizer.
In the conversation, we wanted to go through the amazing potential of the fashion industry to shift from one of massive destruction to one of regeneration. We looked at the systemic levers to make a difference in that major system.
🗣 PANEL GUESTS:
• Rebecca Burgess (executive director of Fibershed, chair of the Board for Carbon Cycle Institute) • Aroa Fernandez Alvarez (co-founder of Centre for Regenerative Fashion and Trace Collective)
