Eventbrite is relatively simple to connect PlaceCal, only needing a specific URL to be copied over, once. The complexities are on Eventbrite itself. All you need is to set up an account and then give it an organiser profile, then feed PlaceCal the URL for that organiser’s page. Any upcoming events you’ve put on Eventbrite are collected there, where PlaceCal can read a bring the relevant details over.

Quick Version

If you’re already familiar with Eventbrite and have an organisation profile up and running there, the bit PlaceCal needs is the URL to the profile page for your organiser. If you’re not sure where to find that, read on. If you are, you can skip down to “Connecting To PlaceCal”.

Eventbrite: Step by Step

First, you need to add an organisation to your Eventbrite account, then an organiser profile. At the time of writing, these settings are found at:

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/organizations/info/

Here is a screenshot of the settings at that URL:

If there are no organiser profiles, click the button to add one. The details you add should be whatever you want to show publicly on your events, usually it’s your organisation name rather than a person. One you have an organiser profile set up, whenever you publish an event with Eventbrite, you’ll be able to specify the organiser:

Each organiser has a unique profile URL, which you can find in the organiser profile settings. Outlined in red below:

That page shows a general profile for the organiser, and at the bottom, all of their upcoming events, like this:

If you have Eventbrite set up to this point, you’re ready to connect it to PlaceCal.
