Thank you for stepping up to meet the moment with the State’s highest priority, to vaccinate every Californian. It will take all of us reaching far and wide into our community networks to accomplish this. There are several different types of events that you may decide to host. Whether it be setting up a table in front of a grocery store, canvassing your neighborhood, or hosting virtual house parties, this guide will help you through some of the logistics planning and other considerations to have a successful event.
Objective
- Train volunteers to raise awareness about vaccine safety + how to sign up for a vaccine
- Assist people in how the appointment system works
- Educate people on vaccine safety
Goals
- Volunteers should set goals
- Can you reach 10,20,50,100 people in your network?
- Keep track of conversations and take photos for Social Media
Toolkits/Materials
- Review Education and Outreach Toolkit for Vaccine Volunteer Scripts + Materials that can be printed for community engagement
- Note: In the case of leaving flyers on neighbors' doors- it is a federal offense to put literature in a mailbox. Volunteers could leave personal notes or flyers to their neighbors they aren’t able to reach in person.
