Share this guide with the check-in helper so they know how to check people in.
For every event in Frontier Tower with >50 registrations, an organizer should send someone to the lobby to help check in their event attendees.
Do not allow anyone to enter who does not complete check-in even if they tell you “I’m part of the event.”
Be as welcoming as possible 😊
How to Check In Someone with Lu.ma Make sure the event organizer or Tower front desk representative has added you as an event manager (they can have you as an “unlisted host” so you can check people in)
In the lu.ma event click “manage event” and then “Check in.” You may now check people in either using a QR code or by searching for their name and manually checking them in.
To check in someone with the QR code: Ask the person to open up the event page. If they can’t find it, have them search for the title in their email and click “my ticket.” Do not accept screenshots of QR codes.
Edge cases: Some phones cannot scan the QR code unless you click the button “add to wallet” and then you can scan it Sometimes an event page will not show “Going” but if you click on “my ticket” within their email then it will show that they are registered as going.
+1s and Un-registered/Pending
If someone is not registered for a free event, have them register on the lu.ma and then let them in even if it says “pending”
The check in person should:
Have a second check in person at the entrance to their event (such as the doorway entering to the 2nd floor event space called “The Spaceship”)
The check in person at the lobby floor now:
The check in person at the entry to the event space will complete the full check in.
Someone may say “my friend is coming to get me,” but if they are not marked as “going,” do not let them in unless an organizer (who will be listed on the lu.ma) says it is okay.
Please ask the organizer if people marked as “pending” can be let in.
Sometimes organizers will let people in for free if the space is not full.
