Meetings, surveys and any other form of member participation should be consistently evaluated to measure and promote a high quality process.

While there is a long list of potential criteria for evaluation of member participation, the following are recommended as the primary criteria to be used:

  1. Representative
  2. Knowledgeable
  3. Empathetic
  4. Trusted
  5. Complete

****To measure against these criteria the following questions will be asked of participants (and third-party evaluators, if any)  at the end of each meeting and/or at other key stages.

The “if not…” questions would be open ended for ideation and idea rating.

1. Representative

Were the participants a fair representation of the affected stakeholders?

If not, who is missing and who is not required?

(Target and achieved Stakeholder Participation Mix will be a key reference)

2. Knowledgeable

Did the participants understand enough to make smart recommendations?

If not, what do they need to learn?

3. Empathetic

Did participants sufficiently understand the perspectives of other stakeholders?

If not, what further dialogue is required?

4. Trusted
