Eppo is a data tools company that brings grassroots, entrepreneurial culture to companies by allowing team members from every corner of the organization to prove the value of their ideas. We do this via a next gen AB experimentation platform that will let team members run experiments end to end, and have the same learnings and diagnostics as if they had a full time data analyst.

We have had incredible early market traction, and have sold the product concept 4 times before writing a line of code. We've raised a competitive seed round led by Amplify, and have the founders of Looker and Optimizely as angel investors. The focus is now on building the founding team, which will include a designer to help us build user empathy into our DNA. The CEO previously built experimentation systems at Airbnb and Webflow, and aims to build a similar design-centric culture at Eppo.

About the Role

Design is a core part of our product philosophy. To enable entrepreneurial culture, our tools needs to feel native to each member of the product team, from product managers to engineers and designers. Most experimentation tools spill a stream of charts and numbers and leave teammates guessing if they are reading everything properly until a data analyst intervenes. Our tooling will invite exploration of hypotheses, will be clear with the limitations of this exploration, and will ultimately empower anyone to show that their ideas have empirical merit.

We are looking for someone to design our experiment readout, our primary user facing interface that will be put on the screen at every sprint meeting. To build this interface, you will do customer research, you will prioritize key workflows by persona, and design an interface that will invite users to those key workflows. You will also choose the original brand aesthetics and design system, although the focus is on producing well researched, intuitive, fluid interactions. You will help us develop and maintain a design philosophy that differentiates our product from the world of inscrutable statistical tools. You will learn from us and we will learn from you, and design will be the tip of the spear as we develop products.

Your Background

We are looking for people who won't operate transactionally, building a modal when we ask to build a modal. Instead, we want someone who will hear our product goals and translate them into the best designed products for our customers. The best products are ones that allow our customers to accomplish their goals and spread a culture of entrepreneurialism and measurement in companies.
