Eppo is a data tools company that brings grassroots, entrepreneurial culture to companies. We do this via a next gen AB experimentation platform that will let team members run experiments end to end, and have the same learnings and diagnostics as if they had a full time data analyst. We believe that AB experimentation provides a permission structure for companies to try out ideas and let their customers vote with their feet.

At other companies, data engineering is a nice accessory to the core business of getting people to watch movies, buy groceries, or book travel lodgings. At Eppo, data engineering is our core product. We live and die by the capabilities and reliability of our data engineering practice.

We have had incredible early market traction, and have sold the product concept 4 times before writing a line of code. We've raised a competitive seed round led by Amplify, and have the founders of Looker and Optimizely as angel investors. The focus is now on building the founding team, which will include a data engineer to help us build the most powerful experimentation system in the world. The CEO previously built experimentation systems at Airbnb and Webflow, and aims to surpass the capabilities of all in-house AB frameworks.

About the Role

We are looking for a founding data engineer to work with the CEO on our experimentation compute engine. You will define the APIs to allow a diverse set of data sources and data types to be the substrate of experimentation metrics. You will build scalable and robust data pipelines to produce these experimentation metrics. Your data components will let us automate all of the analysis work and exception handling that are part of a high velocity experimentation practices, including dealing with assignment mismatches, outliers, and days of bad data.

We want to produce the most advanced experimentation system in the world. Come join Eppo where data engineering is the primary jetfuel of the business.

Your Background

We are looking for people who can operate end to end. Your lines of ownership will extend beyond data pipelines, into application code and product thinking.
