Episode ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Episode iOS application. By using Episode, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Episode collects information that you voluntarily provide while using the app, including:

• Journal entries and episode content you write
• Photos you upload within journal entries
• Your profile photo
• The episode type you select when creating an entry
• Email address, if account creation is required

Episode does not collect your contacts, call logs, or precise location data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide the core features of Episode, including:

• Saving and displaying your journal entries
• Organizing your entries into episodes and seasons
• Generating AI-powered episode titles, summaries, cliffhangers, season recaps, and episode posters
• Displaying photos you upload within your entries

To generate your episode content and posters, your journal text and selected episode type are securely transmitted to Google's Gemini AI API. See Section 4 for full details.

3. Photos and Profile Pictures

Episode allows you to upload photos within journal entries and a profile photo for personalization. These images are stored securely in Google Firebase Storage and are not publicly visible unless you choose to share them outside the app.

When AI poster generation is used, a text description derived from your journal entry is sent to Google's Gemini Image Generation API to create your episode poster. Your profile photo may also be included if personalized poster generation is enabled. This data is not retained by Google beyond what is necessary to complete the generation request.
