Ep. 11 - What 2022 Taught Me About Love

[00:00:00]

Hello, and welcome back to season two of the BMR connected podcast. My name is Elise Preston. And I'm your host. For the second season of the show, I am so excited to dive into the theme of love. And intimacy. I personally learned so much from my guests this season. And for those of you tuned into the finale of season one.

You might remember that I initially chose this theme of love and intimacy because I'm craving deeper intimacy and authenticity and connection. And my romantic and personal relationships. And [00:01:00] even though this is what I deeply desire. It's been feeling so scary. And it really feels like my biggest growth edge at the moment.

So I thought. What better way to help to dissolve the fear. Than to dive straight into this topic and really immerse myself in helpful conversations and tools. As I'm moving through the fear. But what's really interesting. What I discovered during the process of recording the interviews for this season.

Is that I really love talking about love. And relationships and connection and intimacy and strategies for how to approach. These aspects of life with. More authenticity and with more skill. And I truly feel like I could geek out on these concepts. For forever. And [00:02:00] that discovery really invited me to get curious about how I can incorporate these topics into my work with my clients even more. And so this fall, as I was recording the podcast interviews. I decided that I wanted to do a little bit of revisioning and review and revising of my offerings and how I'm currently supporting people. And I decided to really just slow down and reflect and take a closer look at my business, taking a closer look at what was lighting me up about my work and what wasn't. And starting to think about the work that i want to dig deeper into and what i'm really ready to let go of.

One of the activities that I did during this reflection process. Was to review [00:03:00] my journals from this year. And reflect on the ways that I've been growing. And I also reviewed my client testimonials and took note of how my clients shared that they had benefited from working with me. And both of these activities really helped me to find a lot of clarity this fall.

Which has resulted in some new messaging emerging for the business. And I know this is definitely going to continue to unfold. But I love to share some of the initial updates that are coming through. And so here is the updated, I help statement. As an intuitive life and business coach, I'm here to help visionary leaders, creatives, and entrepreneurs.

Learn how to love and transform themselves. So that they can love and transform their communities. I specialize in providing a soft, grounded, yet empowering approach to life, business and [00:04:00] well being.

As I listened back to my testimonials, it really clicked for me in a new way. What exactly it is that my clients are receiving from working with me. And it also clicked for me in a new way. That's my clients and I share such similar challenges and. Roadblocks, which is why I've been able to uniquely support them.

So some of the key challenges that have gotten in the way for me and for my soulmate clients have been feeling too out there too weird or different because of our love of all things, mystical, magical, and spiritual. Our empathic nature and sensitive nature. Making it difficult for us to express our needs and our desires and put ourselves first.

[00:05:00] Our fear of being judged or misunderstood. A challenge or struggle with visibility and stepping into our full power. Having some big wounding and resistance around money and power and avoiding money and power because of the belief that they are unspiritual or contribute to greed and disconnection. Having a lack of community and mentorship to inspire, encourage and support us along our unique journey.

Having a deep, deep desire to create change. But seeking to do that from a place of toxic empathy and hypervigilance about other people's needs.

And placing so much pressure and expectation on ourselves to do things perfectly. That it actually prevents us [00:06:00] from taking action. And so as you're listening to some of these key challenges, I'm wondering. If you're resonating with any of them, if you're feeling like this sounds like you.

If you are a regular listener of this podcast and this content is resonating with you. It's likely that you relate to many of these challenges. And I believe that the universe has supported us in finding each other. Because there are such amazing ways that we can learn and heal and grow. By being in relationship with one another.

And the ways that we connect and build and collaborate. Are able to have amazing ripple effects out in the world.

So. At the start of 2022. I had big aspirations for. Growing my audience, expanding my reach, creating new offerings, et cetera. But as this year progressed, it became [00:07:00] clear that this is not the experience that I was meant to have this year.
