Star Date: April - 27 - 2955
Location: Microtech β Crusader β Yela
Today started simply enough.
I was tasked with gathering Tundra Kopion Horns β three of them β somewhere in the vast tundra plains of Microtech.
I figured it would be a quick mission: find a few alien plants, harvest them, and be on my way.
Before setting off, I checked in with Finrod, my elven guide and companion in the stars, who offered advice and support while I focused on learning the terrain.
He believed, like I did, that I would be hunting strange plants hidden among the green grasslands.
Descending from orbit, I searched tirelessly.
And it was then that Microtech claimed its first lesson from me.
I looked down from my ship, seeing a soft white horizon below.
I thought it was clouds β beautiful, endless clouds β and confidently descended toward what I believed would be a gentle pass through the mist.
Instead...
I hit the planetβs icy floor at full speed.
The "clouds" were the snowfields themselves, so perfectly reflective that the ground and sky blended into one.
The ship slammed into the frozen tundra with a brutal thud, alarms screaming in my ears.
Systems flickered and died, and for a moment, it seemed the crash had claimed my vessel.
I laughed at the absurdity β even through the impact haze β but survival instincts kicked in.
I tried to power the ship back online, but it refused, mocking me with nothing but "Exit" and "Eject" prompts.
