Class Schedule
Welcome to the enterprise project & skills module.
The aim of this module is to integrate the key skills and knowledge you will:
- create a project plan,
- business plan, and;
- ultimately a feasible business app, product or service.
You will be required as part of a team to use your creative, business and research skills to:
- identify a viable business opportunity and
- demonstrate in your plans an understanding of the business environment,
- market dynamics along with the importance of financial, marketing and
- HR considerations in launching a successful new product.
You will also be required to develop digital artefacts such as a website, blog, and a viral marketing video to support your business idea.
The best plans will be put forward to a showcase event which will be judged by an industry expert with a special award for the winning team.
🚫 Our expectations of you:
- We expect you to attend the workshops every week. If you are unable to attend a session (for example if you are unwell), you should inform your tutor before the session if possible.
- For this module you will mostly be acting and being assessed as part of a team. You will be expected to play a full part in this team and participate equally in the project work both within and outside classes. If team-working problems occur within your group, you should firstly try to resolve the issues yourselves or, failing that, inform your tutor of the situation as soon as possible. Students will not be allowed to change groups without the express permission of your module tutor and you should note that this will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances.
- You will be set various tasks throughout the semester which will need to be completed on time. Some of this work is formative (and does not carry a mark) such as reading articles, presenting an in-class verbal summary of progress, or preparing something for the next workshop. Other tasks will contribute towards your final grade (see section below on assessment). You will be given feedback on these completed tasks either verbally or in writing, and feedback will come from both the tutors and sometimes from your peers.
- We expect all work submitted to be in good written English, to be presented neatly, and to be properly referenced. We expect you to check your work carefully before submitting it.
