🔍 Current Onboarding Flow Analysis
- App selected: Bumble
- Summary of current flow:
- Step 1: Login screen with Bumble Branding and CTA, Option 1 “I have an account,” Option 2 “I don’t have an account”
- Step 2: Auto country code selection then phone number entry
- Step 3: Verification code and optional call
- Step 4: Verification loop if it fails
- Step 5: Location permission request for nearby matches
- Step 6: Modal for system location permission
- Step 7 Permission request for notification of matches and messages
- Step 8 Modal for system notification
- Step 9: Transition into profile building screen
- Pain points identified:
- No progress bar (I feel the process is painfully long)
- back to back verification straight up is daunting
- Doesn’t know anything besides verification
- Error states are not really encouraging nor helpful
- Early request for location is out of place
- Multiple screens have similar designs and cations, causing boredom (mental fatigue)
🎯 Goals of the A/B Test
- Increase profile creation completion rate by 20%
- Provide matches information early in the process (Profile Pictures and additional pictures, bio information)
- Shorten time to complete on-boarding
- Keeping and improve the as is guard-rail metrics
📝 Variations
Variation A (Control):
- Current on-boarding is uninteresting and consisted of repetitive design over and over. Nothing defines “I’m an interesting dating app made by people that wishes to find their soul-mate”
Variation B (Treatment):
- Simplified, interesting, and interactive on-boarding flow, with features such as:
- Progress Bar
- Pictures
- Bio chips for AI assisted prompt
- AI assisted bio creations based on chips
- Overall bio recap
Variation B concept screens:
