1. Do we have to build an AI model for this hackathon?
- This is a hackathon focused on developing services that leverage AI to solve social issues.
- Participants are free to choose any platform—web, mobile app, desktop app, Slack bot, etc.—to build their AI-powered services using the Gemini API.
2. When will the detailed themes be announced?
- The main theme of the hackathon is "Solving Social Issues with AI".
- On the day before the event (Friday, May 16), 2–3 specific sub-themes aligned with the main theme will be announced.
- This is to prevent participants from unintentionally spending too much time on service planning beforehand.
- You are not required to finalize your service plannning in advance, and there are no restrictions regarding this.
3. Is there a participation fee?
- Participation is completely free!
4. Are meals provided?
- Yes! Meals will be provided throughout the event:
- Day 1: Lunch and Dinner
- Day 2: Breakfast and Lunch
- A variety of snacks will also be available during the event.
5. Can graduate students participate?
- The Impact AI Hackathon is open only to undergraduate or leave-of-absence students currently enrolled at universities located in Gwangju.
- Unfortunately, graduate students are not eligible to participate.
6. Is using the Gemini API mandatory? Will credits be provided?
- Yes, the Gemini API is required, and credits will be provided.
- Basic learning materials will be shared in advance, and a brief technical introduction session will be held at the beginning of the event.
