Here are my social media links.
Nice to meet you! I’m Orise lafu(laugh). — but please feel free to call me “Orichan.”
I’m not the best at talking on stage, so I prepared this little self-introduction message. ☺️
I was born with a bone condition and I use a power wheelchair.
On weekdays, I work as a Care and Support Coordinator for people with disabilities — a job similar to a case manager.
I also live alone with the help of a service called Heavy Home-Visit Care.
I want more people to know that even with a disability, it’s absolutely possible to live independently in the community.
I know that street performances can be viewed in many different ways.
Some people may feel uncomfortable with them, and I truly understand that.
I always do my best to make sure I’m not blocking the walkway or causing noise troubles, and if the police ever ask me to stop, I will pack up immediately.
But I have a very clear purpose for performing on the street.
I’ve often been told, “Why don’t you just perform at a live house?”
Many live houses, however, have stairs, and as a wheelchair user, the number of venues I can actually enter is very limited.
When there are so few accessible places to sing, it becomes much harder for my message to reach people.
I perform on the street so I can share the message behind my song “Salad,” written below, with as many people as possible.
I take every comment — encouragement or criticism — sincerely and seriously.
I would be truly grateful if you could kindly watch over me with warmth.
