Imagine if you could personalize any viral video and make it your own by using your own photos.

CAPI transforms photos and videos into personalized, trendy, and share-worthy creations featuring anything from the user, their friends, and their favorite moments. As a next-gen competitor of SORA AI and TikTok, it empowers anyone to create high-quality, shareable videos through a hybrid blend of cutting-edge AI technologies — including Kling, VEO 3, GPT-4.0, and proprietary in-house AI models — delivering personalized, expressive, and delightfully fun storytelling experiences.

I joined in April 2025 as Principal Product Designer, leading the app's major UX upgrade and driving its first TestFlight launch. As the company scaled, my role quickly expanded into product strategy, design leadership, and cross-functional execution — serving as the connective tissue executive vision and engineering output. I helped define the product direction, translate abstract ideas into actionable requirements, and bring the company's first public app to life through hands-on user-centric design, clear communication, and rapid iteration.

IMPACT


I designed and shipped CAPI AI’s first public iOS app — a next-generation video creation platform that reached over 10,000 early users and helped secure $5 million in funding. By translating complex AI technologies into a simple, consumer-ready experience, I shaped a product that felt both powerful and approachable. This work combined clear design vision, hands-on execution, and close collaboration across model, engineering, and leadership teams to bring the company’s vision to life.

PROBLEM


Billions of photos and videos are created every day, yet most never leave personal camera rolls. While platforms like TikTok dominate short-form video, no AI platform truly leverages personal media as a source of content — leaving a massive, emotional, and untapped market behind.
