Pre-boarding (before the first day at work)

A successful pre-boarding prepares your prospective employee for a smooth sail during his/her first day at work. On the contrary, companies that ignore this step are setting their employees off to a thunderstorm.

It’s a good practice to have the relevant forms ready before the employee comes in. Depending on your legislation, it could be a different set of documents. Feel free to embed any relevant paperwork using the form below

Creating an employee record in the system will save time for more important things during the first day at a job. You can create a fill-out form for your employees and edit it with your managers using Google Forms

It is important to reach out to your employee constantly to minimize the risks of bailing out of the job. Therefore, you can use the time before the first day at work to introduce a prospective employee to his duties personally.

If you want your employee to feel welcome, you have to prepare all office supplies, clean the space and prepare the programs on the desktop BEFORE he/she arrives to work. Signs of appreciation, such as a welcome chocolate bar or merchandise is also a good practice.

It is a good idea to send links to training materials and a detailed job description to your employee before his/her first day at work.
