Welcome to The Empire Monthly Challenge!

You are all welcome to stretch your artist legs. Get out of your comfort zone or artist block, and unleash your full potential!

There are no winners or prizes, it's all about challenging yourself. The deadline is purely to indicate the start of the next challenge, if you need more time to finish up that's okay.

Modifiers are optional rules for the challenge that allow you to push your skills even further!

Environment Challenge - "Aziz, Light!"

Crank up the Lumenosity! (seewhatididthere?)

Back to basics. This is a bit of an odd one. We're not asking you to create a fully featured environment as we've done in the past. Think brutalist architecture. Frames within frames. Striking shapes and wicked composition. Get artsy with it. Play with light and shadow to create your masterpiece. One material for all we care, or a few if you wanna spice it up. Oh, you sly dog.

The point here is to get you to try something new and have fun with some new lighting tech with UE5. There are no wrong answers. Patterns. Shapes. Let loose and have some fun with it.

Substance Challenge - Material Focus

Beach Sand

The shapes from water erosion can vary drastically depending on a bunch of environmental factors. Ideally we should see a bunch of varying submissions. Your challenge with the material is to create something unique. No limitations. Add water if you'd like. Research beach sand at different locations around the world and at different areas around coastal spots for inspiration.
