1. Generous holiday package, specifying a minimum of 28 days (not including bank holidays): Emitwise believes that time off from work should be encouraged, rather than just made available. We have high standards during working hours, but equally appreciate the importance of a balanced lifestyle in which employees have the time to rest and explore what the rest of the planet has to offer.
  2. Personalised workspace to maximise welfare and productivity: Whether it's at home or at work, we want anywhere where you do work to be a place that is ergonomic, comfortable, and productive. We offer a stipend of £200 per quarter for investing in your workspace. You may choose to spend this on items including, but not limited to, a monitor, laptop stand, chair, desk, plant, lamp, high-speed internet access, whiteboard, stationery, poster, coffee machine, water bottle, or headphones. If you need more support in improving your workspace, let us know and we'll do our best to make it happen.
  3. Flexible working hours, which consider the needs of your team and clients: We expect you to drive our mission forward every day you are working. We do not mind when this happens; we just mind that it happens. For work requiring high-frequency communication, it is important that you work during similar hours as the rest of the team and/or clients. For guidance, the team typically works between 9 am and 6 pm (± 2 hours). But, as a general rule of thumb, work when suits you and your family and we will let you know if it’s disruptive.
  4. Take mental health days, no questions asked: In our eyes, mental health care deserves just as much attention as physical health care. Mental health is a vital part of your life and impacts your thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. We treat it as such. If you need to take time off to care for your mental health, just let us know. We'll oblige, no questions asked. If you feel the need to take multiple days in a row, please check in with us so that we can make medical leave arrangements appropriate to your mental health needs.
  5. 3 paid days of volunteering in social impact: We are always on the lookout for mission-driven individuals and, as such, expect them to be the type of person to want to get involved in social impact initiatives, both in and outside of their day-to-day jobs. We will organise 1 annual team volunteering day and encourage 2 additional days throughout the year.
  6. Regular team outings, to be held once a quarter: People spend most of their lives at work, which means the relationships you have with your co-workers are integral to your wellbeing. We recognise the importance of the social relationships you create at the workplace, as well as how beneficial these can be to what you can achieve at work.
  7. Enabling a carbon neutral lifestyle at each step of your sustainability journey: We'll help you map out your personal carbon footprint, create a roadmap for your journey to carbon neutrality, and offer continued support at each step of the way. We'll provide concrete examples for how to reduce your carbon footprint, through things like cycle-to-work schemes, and offer financial and moral support. As a starting point, check out Gold Standard's online guide.
  8. Facilitating personal and professional development: We want you to have the opportunity to always be learning, whether that's in areas related to your role or not. We'd strongly encourage you to reach out to us if there's something you want to improve upon. We'll do our best to support you with this and help you grow as a person and professional.
  9. Shared parental benefits and leave available: Building a family is another full-time job. We want to ensure that you are able to fulfil your duties as a parent, without having to worry about your future at the company. For parents who have worked for us for at least one year, we offer up to six months of paid leave. For those who have worked for us for less than a year, we offer one month of paid leave, and then up to five months of unpaid leave. This is applicable for either parent, as well as for births or adoption.
  10. Caregiving benefits and leave available: We appreciate that life can throw difficult situations your way. If a loved one is critically ill or injured, or if they require end-of-life care, we'll encourage you to take time off. As a caregiver, you don’t have to be related to or live with the person you care for or support, but they must consider you to be like family.
