Friendly Automate uses MJML for all email templates and emails. This is because we want to create emails that are responsive.

A responsive email is an email that is optimally displayed on both desktops and mobile devices. For example, columns placed side by side are displayed one below the other on a smartphone, as this sample newsletter shows:

Whether an HMTL email is displayed responsively depends largely on how well it is rendered by the particular email client in use, since each email software implements this differently. To work around the rendering problems of the different email clients, it usually takes complex solutions in HTML coding.

MJML was developed to do this work for you. It is an open source markup language that uses a syntax that is designed to display content correctly in all email clients. MJML is used only in the background: Before the email is sent, it is converted to responsive HTML.

Because of these advantages, Friendly Automate uses MJML for all email templates and emails.
