Edison Institute was founded on the 21st of May 2020. Our mission is to create and distribute free teaching resources for everyone.
Understand Why
Because it’s the purpose. It allows us to decide whether we support the cause and share the belief. It helps us ask the right questions and phrase the truly relevant problems. As Albert Einstein famously said: “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask… for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.”
Think Freely
Keep an open mind. Disregard the pressure of popular opinion. Resist the deceit of personal interest. Break with taboos. Listen in conversation. Talk clearly in a humble and mindful manner.
Be independent
Live a life true to yourself. Consciously make decisions. Prevent autopilot brain. Don’t do something just because others expect it. Act friendly and respectful.
Live joyful
Prioritise family and friends. Interact with full attention. Be warm, hospitable and generous. Take and stimulate initiative. Allow relaxation. Play and learn. Rest properly.
