Parlo is an AI-powered voice journaling app developed and maintained by Max Eisenberg ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your data secure. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By accessing or using the app, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the app.
No Personal Identifiers Stored
We use Google and Apple Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. While Firebase securely manages your name and email for login purposes, we do not store any personally identifiable information in our own database. Authentication is handled using industry-standard security protocols.
Anonymous Journaling
Each user is assigned a secure, randomly generated UUID. Journal transcripts are encrypted and tied only to this UUID in our database.
Encrypted Storage
All journal transcripts are stored in encrypted form to protect your privacy and data integrity. Transcripts are only decrypted locally on your device — they cannot be read by anyone accessing our servers.
AI Analysis
Your journal entries may be processed using AI to generate summaries and mood insights. This analysis is fully automated—no human ever reviews your entries, and insights are provided solely for personal reflection. They are not intended for medical or clinical use.
AI processing occurs off-device using a third-party provider. Entries are sent anonymously, and no personally identifiable information (PII) is included.
Speech Recognition
When you use Parlo’s voice journaling feature, your spoken audio is transcribed into text using Apple’s Speech Recognition framework. This service is provided by Apple and may process your voice data either on your device or securely on Apple’s servers, depending on device capabilities and system configuration.
Parlo does not store your audio recordings, and we do not associate transcripts with your identity. All transcription is handled in real-time, and no data is retained by us after processing.

No Data Sharing or Selling
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Your information stays within the app’s domain unless required by law (e.g., legal obligation or law enforcement request).
Usage Analytics
We may collect anonymized usage statistics to improve the app experience. These do not include any journal content or personal identifiers.
Data Deletion
You may request permanent deletion of your data by contacting us or manually deleting your account from settings. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
The app is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
