E reading allows you to read books straight from your device without having to visit the Library or bookstore. This article covers a few different apps that allow you to conveniently read anywhere at anytime. In addition to reading, these applications have audiobooks which allow you to listen to the content instead.

Amazon Kindle

Amazon Kindle is a popular e-reading application available on any device. Kindle provides a wide range of books including free and low cost options. The app allows you to highlight text, change font size, and switch to dark mode to customize your reading experience.

  1. Download the Kindle app on google or apple play store
  2. Open the app to sign in or make an account if you do not have one.
  3. Search for any book that you want to read and buy it.
  4. Go over to your library section to read your book after your purchase has been completed.

Google play books

Google Play Books is an application for Android devices offering books, audiobooks, and comics.

  1. Go to the google play store and download google play books if you do not already have it.
  2. Go into the app with your google account.
  3. Start looking  for any book that you want and purchase it.
  4. Go to your library after the purchase of your book and select it to start reading.

Apple Books

Apple Books is available for apple devices such as iPhones and iPads. It is the equivalent of Google play books for Apple, offering a wide range of e-reading options and titles to choose from.

  1. Open the Books app on your device
  2. Tap Book Store to browse or search for a title
  3. Tap a book to buy or download (many free options available!)
  4. Tap Library to start reading

Libby

Libby is an application that connects you to your local public library. Using the app, you can borrow eBooks and audiobooks for free if you have a library card.

How to use it:

  1. Download the Libby app from the app store
  2. Search for your local library
  3. Sign in with your library card number
  4. Once signed in, you can borrow and read books with no late fees
