Rahdis had released an amused huff and put on his shoes before he followed Haku out of his apartment to visit a simple bar down the road. Rahdis sometimes came here because the place wasn't too shabby and its clientele not too obviously looking for trouble. It also had some darker, comfier corners where Haku wouldn't have to worry too much about being identified as the warrior of light.

They could spend the rest of the evening there. Rahdis was back to his own more serious self, buying some rounds for his companion, too, but wouldn't get too wasted. Rahdis rarely drank so much that he felt really drunk. A little tipsy he was fine with, sure. But in his usual surroundings he just didn't feel safe not being in complete control of his senses. Ul'dah’s dark alleys could be dangerous. Not necessarily for a strong man like him, but definitely for a careless drunk man. If he was honest, he welcomed the little lightheaded-ness from the alcohol to not think too much about the former, exhausting conversation with Haku and his revelations regarding his view on their last bed adventures and Rahdis' behavior.

However, it didn't change that the wolf didn't get into the mood to start anything more that night when they had returned to his apartment. He liked having Haku near. Maybe touched him a little and let Haku touch him in return, but for everything else his head just wasn't there which he would communicate that to his companion as clearly as he could, hopefully without starting another dispute. Maybe the tiger was too drunk himself for that anyway.

The next morning Rahdis wakes early with the sunrise, his head still a bit heavy from not getting enough sleep. Laying on his belly, just dressed in his boxers, he looks over to the redhead if he would already be awake.

Haku needed this. Getting shit off his chest. Going to a sketchy bar in the back alleys of Ul'dah with the last person he would have thought, all to get a stiff drink and drown in his thoughts. But that same person, the man that he hated for so many damn years, was his saving grace and his last shred of sanity.

A smokey haze wafted in the air of the bar, filled to the brim with its usual shady patrons. Hard liquor burned his lips as Haku took a long swig of his drink, but otherwise didn't chat up Rahdis all that much. It was nice just sitting here existing with the stuck-up wolf. As much as he knows that conversation back at Rahdis' apartment needed to happen, the tiger was glad it's said and done so they could just move on. Some parts of what Rahdis said to him still lingered, though. Haku nonetheless took to heart the wolf's honest words. And he knew they were honest because Rahdis was the last person he figured would lie through his teeth like a weasel. Haku would glide his tail over Rahdis' backside at times while they sat on the bar stools, sneak a hand across his lower back when they were walking home. What little alcohol he did have was enough to make him comfortably buzzed.

Their more affectionate, softer advances on each other felt different. The shorter kisses. The odd caress of an arm or hip. The way they would look at each other in the eyes now. It was something Haku had to get used to, and it felt odd for him to act more like a "partner" to his former rival more than anything. There was still much running through his mind, and he sure as shit wasn't going to go around and make the world know they were an item. No, they weren't an item. But they were something, he couldn't deny. If he wasn't so damn emotionally exhausted he would have most definitely moved onto Rahdis tonight. And this time show him that being the one on the bottom wasn't so fucking bad.

After returning back to the apartment, it didn't take Haku long to get more comfortable and strip down to his boxer briefs. He grabbed a glass of water from the small kitchen, like he was so used to doing as guest here, and immediately went to go crash in Rahdis' slightly stiff bed, the old thing creaking when he lands on it.
