These designs are my final sketches I drew before moving to digital. As stated in the previous page, there will be some similarities between the two drafts, but overall I believe this design was the best layout for my project. The images shown below are presented in order of the pages the user will see in the app, starting at the introduction/start page. There are arrows on most pages, with text describing the elements on screen to give you a better idea of what that particular screen will appear like.
The first page is simply an introduction page, as it introduces the user to the app, displaying the logo and brand. I am still debating whether to have a slogan underneath the name saying something like, “One step ahead”, as it is pretty relevant to the situation the user is in. The app is in fact one step ahead of the real MRI scan, so that was my way of thinking. This is something to think about for semester 2. As well as this, I was thinking of having a nice calming background image for most if not all screens, but especially for this screen as it introduces the user, rather than having a black background area. Another idea to think about for next term.
It was inevitable that navigation page was indeed for my project, as it is in VR. I always had to be reminded that most people have likely never used VR before, especially elderly patients. As a person who has two VR consoles and a regular user, it is fairly easy for me to adapt to Virtual Reality because of this. So, it is important that I make this app as easy as I can to navigate without spending too much time explaining how. For these next few pages I took influences from VR games and apps I have used throughout the past few years. The only thing the users need to know is how to aim the controllers at the navigation buttons and press & pull one button on the controller. This was the most simplistic way I do. The images will give you a better idea of how the screen will appear.
This page is presented to allow the user to get an idea how to go back and forth between pages, hence why there are buttons displayed on each corner of the screen. All these buttons will not be displayed at once, only when each button is selected individually, for example as the image shows, the top left button will appear first, then when that was selected, the second button on the top right corner will appear and so on until the ‘continue’ button is displayed.
