Once you’ve found a listing for your trip, you can book the reservation without contacting the guide beforehand. However, some travelers prefer to contact their guide prior to making a reservation.

Please note that when requesting to book a reservation, you’re encouraged to include a brief message for your guide on the Send a request page.

Messaging a guide before requesting

You’ll have to request that the guide accept your reservation. It’s a good idea to message the guide before requesting since they can answer questions about the trip, as well as let you know if it’s available. Before contacting your guide, we recommend reviewing all the details about the trip, as the information you’re inquiring about may already be available.

To contact an guide from the trip page, click Message [Guide name] and ask the guide any questions you have. Most guides respond within a few hours. Keep in mind that you may be in different time zones or the operator may not have internet access at the moment.

If a guide isn’t responding

If a guide hasn't responded within 24 hours. The Thermal team will jump in to resolve the slow response. You can message as many guides as you'd like, so it's up to them to respond to you in a timely fashion or risk losing their chance at having you join them as a traveler. Thermal requires every guide to respond within 24 hours or risk removal.

Sending multiple requests

Don't hesitate to send multiple requests to different guides, but please only confirm and pay for the reservation when you've found the right trip. While you can cancel, guides will be holding your place so they may miss the opportunity to serve another traveler.

Contacting the operator after making the reservation

After you’ve made the reservation, you can reach the guide by going to Trips, finding the reservation, and contacting the guide from there. You can also use your Inbox to message the guide.
