Why Are We Talking About This?

Our Action

Companies tend to think about DEI work in terms of workshops, employee groups, and hiring processes. These efforts are all important, but we’re focusing on DEI as action and using a design approach to tackle these tricky issues.

The People and Talent team, who lead many of our DEI efforts, use and design frameworks to guide their work. Frameworks help us to avoid making mistakes (such as checklists) and to ask the right questions. For example, the Design for Diversity framework includes questions such as:

  1. What’s the worst-case scenario, and on whom?
  2. How do the identities within our team influence and impact your design decisions?
  3. Who might we be excluding?
  4. How will we engage the people we want to reach within our design process?

Below you can dive into some of our in-flight efforts and documented learnings. Any significant or meaningful updates will be shared within All Hands.
