Device Management

This is the central command center for every phone that exists in your world. From here, you can issue new phones to players and NPCs, change who owns a device, or remove a phone from the game entirely. Getting familiar with this screen is the first and most important step to managing your world's devices.

How to Access Device Management:

1. As the GM, open your Smartphone Widget.
2. If you are not on the Home Screen, perform a short swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to reveal the navigation bar and tap the Home button (🏠).
3. Tap the Settings app (⚙️).
4. In the "GM Only" section, tap on "Device Management."

Key Features:

• Creating a New Phone
  1. Tap the plus icon (➕) in the top right corner of the Device Management screen.
  2. A list of eligible Actors will appear.
  3. Note: This list is filtered by the Actor Types you have enabled in the module's settings. By default, this is only 'Character' type Actors. If an NPC or other Actor is missing, go to Foundry's main Configure Settings > Module Settings > Smartphone Widget > Smartphone GM Settings and add their Actor Type to the list.
  4. Select the Actor who will own the new phone. A device will be instantly created, assigned a unique phone number, and linked to that Actor.
• Changing a Phone's Owner
  1. Find the device you wish to reassign in the list.
  2. Tap the change owner icon (👤✏️) next to their name.
  3. The Actor selection list will appear again.
  4. Choose the new owner for the device. The ownership will be transferred immediately.
• Deleting a Phone
  1. Find the device you wish to remove from the world.
  2. Tap the trash can icon (🗑️) next to it.
  3. A confirmation screen will appear to prevent accidental deletion.
  4. Confirm your choice to permanently delete the phone. This will remove the device, its phone number, and all associated data (contacts, call history, etc.) from the game. This action cannot be undone.
• Searching and Filtering
  • Use the search bar at the top of the screen to quickly find a specific device. You can search by the owner's Actor name or by their phone number. This is especially useful in worlds with a large number of NPCs.
