🏢 About Manta
Manta Network is a modular blockchain ecosystem for Web3 and AI applications. We are a lean team of around 30 people running many small services rather than a few large ones, so this role owns the whole environment instead of one narrow slice of it. We are looking for a practical operations engineer: keep things stable, automate the repetitive work, fix root causes. The focus is operations, not backend development.
💼 Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day AWS operations: Own and maintain our AWS environment (EC2, VPC, ALB, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, Route53). Handle provisioning, upgrades, backups, permissions and routine changes, and keep the environment tidy and documented.
- Deployment & CI/CD automation: Build and maintain deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions and Docker so engineers can ship on their own. Make releases repeatable with a clear rollback path, and replace manual console operations with scripts and configuration.
- Monitoring, alerting & incident response: Set up and own monitoring and alerting (Prometheus / Grafana / Loki, or a hosted equivalent). Be first responder when something breaks, restore service, then document the cause and the fix.
- Blockchain node & RPC upkeep: Keep our nodes and RPC endpoints healthy: deployment, version upgrades, disk and snapshot management, basic rate limiting and protection.
- LLM token usage monitoring & AI-assisted ops: Build dashboards and alerts for LLM API token consumption and spend across teams and projects, and flag abnormal usage. Use AI tools in your own workflow for log triage, script generation and small automations.
✅ Requirements
- 3+ years in operations / DevOps: You have carried real production responsibility and are comfortable being the person who gets pinged when something is down.
- Practical AWS skills: Day-to-day fluency with the common AWS services, plus a working command of VPC networking and IAM permissions.
- Solid Linux + Docker: Strong Linux fundamentals across networking, disk, processes, logs and performance troubleshooting. Comfortable with Docker and container-based deployment.
- Scripting & automation: Competent with Python or Bash, and able to work with Terraform or similar IaC tooling. When something is repetitive, you script it away.
- AI tooling in daily work: You actively use LLMs in your work and can build lightweight monitoring around API usage and cost.
- Small-team generalist: Comfortable covering operations, security, cost and tooling. Self-directed, clear in writing, effective working asynchronously across time zones.
⭐ Nice to Have
- Web3 / node experience: Has run blockchain nodes or RPC services, or worked at an exchange, node provider or crypto project.
