this book was super interesting – gave me a better picture of how large-scale web systems work. how do Google and Facebook actually serve billions of users? it's a very difficult problem with all kinds of creative and fascinating solutions.
I stopped at page 304 (mid-way through ch 8), not for any particular reason. I'd been wanting to finish it for a while but after a few months it didn't seem like it would happen. I'm more interested in other things for now, and might get back to it later.
