Project Description & The Problem Space

P2P.org is a leading validator that is backed by 20000 stakers, securing $5 billion in assets in staking. A subdivision of P2P.org, Key App is the first Solana blockchain wallet developed with a feature of free transactions available on iOS and Android.

During our initial research, we found that existing web3 apps were too difficult for average users. We dived deeper and realized the most challenging parts of the CX: onboarding, buying crypto, and sending funds (the necessity of paying gas fees!). Our unique selling point was born here, we wanted to create the easiest-to-use wallet for newbies and crypto-curious audiences.

My Role & Responsibilities

I was the only designer for a few months. I needed to design an Android version of the app, and also complete all the design debt that was presented by the previous team, including a lack of metrics and design validation. Then I scaled a team of designers from 1 to 4 and became a design lead. My responsibilities were:

Our Target Audience

Before the launch, we only had employees and close friends of the company as users. The people who gave us feedback before the launch were not representative of the audience we were trying to reach. We wanted to create an app for newbies in the crypto world but at the same time, we gathered feedback from crypto natives. As I noticed this pattern, we began customer development activities that led us to change the roadmap completely. To simplify, the two key personas for our app were:
