**TL;DR:

Situation:** Company has a scalability bottleneck caused by a 10:1 engineer-to-designer ratio; So as the company scaled into B2B, we faced many issues in:

• design and engineering worked without a shared system.
• There wasn’t ownership in being consistent.
• Components were different for different audiences and platforms,
• FE rebuilt them repeatedly, and visual decisions weren’t documented.

Action: After identifying the issues, I created a plan-of-action to create a Design System initiative as product infrastructure. I ran cross-product audits, built foundations and components in Figma, defined governance and weekly ritual calls, aligned with engineering, and migrated the team from SketchApp to a structured, versioned workflow in Figma.

Result: Product release cycles reduced from 12 to 8 months (-33%), high-fidelity design time dropped ~40%, accessibility reached 100% AA compliance on migrated platforms, and onboarding and delivery became more predictable.

🗺️ Situation

Framing Design

In 2021, design and engineering worked without a shared system. The design setup was built for a much smaller team, working on small product improvement tasks.

• Files were split between Sketch and Google Drive, and shared manually. Collaboration was slow.
• There were no meeting notes.
• Decisions weren’t documented.
• Consistency was hard to maintain.
• Each product evolved in isolation.
