Hi, I’m Jules! I'm a creative Christian who loves building things — from videogames and TTRPGs to intentional community spaces like my theology book club — and I'm looking to date another Christian. I'm 25, work remotely in marketing at a nonprofit, and am rooted in the Boston area, although I've been considering moving to NYC.
Dating apps are designed in ways that can be addictive and encourage us to focus on the superficial. This is a date-me-doc: a longer, more intentional alternative.
a bit about me
- At my best: Highly creative. A curious learner. Community-oriented — I love my friends deeply and strive to make them feel cared for. Ambitious and driven. Deeply authentic to who I am and honest about my shortcomings. Disarmingly funny and energetic. Good at making things happen and a great community organizer (I’ve hosted gatherings ranging from Veggietales-themed potlucks to tax filing parties to indie TTRPG game nights, and I currently run an ongoing theology book club). The word people use to describe me the most is “thoughtful.”
- Hobbies:
-
Creativity: I make indie videogames, zines, illustrations, and stickers. I’ve been recently getting into photography, making indie TTRPGs, and linocut printmaking. You can see some of my creative work here:
Roman Hyacinths
-
Other interests: reading (mostly history and theology as of late, although fiction has my heart), cooking, sustainable fashion and re-commerce, penpalling (I have four penpals from Nebraska to Sri Lanka), videogames (favorites include the Mass Effect trilogy, Hades, Subnautica, Citizen Sleeper, Disco Elysium, Fallout 4, Fields of Mistria, and Horizon: Zero Dawn) and TTRPGs (I play D&D, but I’m particularly interested in indie TTRPGs), skiing, volunteering
-
Things I’d be particularly open to trying: gardening (I used to do a lot of it, but haven't in years), partnered dance (I've recently tried hustle), rock climbing (top rope), pottery, most sports (but especially tennis)
- Religion: I’m a nondenominational protestant Christian currently holding membership at a Baptist church, and my faith is the cornerstone of my life and ethical framework.
- Family Plans: I love babysitting and mentoring kids (I currently volunteer as a Big / mentor to a 13-year-old girl through Big Brother Big Sister), but I can’t have biological kids. I’m open to adoption if that’s where God leads, but for the foreseeable future I see other ways I feel called to spend my time and skills. I’m likely not a good fit for someone who feels strongly called to parenthood, whether biologically or through adoption. That said, I want to be meaningfully and generously involved involved in nurturing the next generation regardless of whether I have children of my own.
- Career: I work in marketing at a nonprofit. In my early twenties I used to care more about climbing the career ladder, but I now prioritize just having a good job where I can do good work for a good cause with good people. I also do freelance web design and development here and there.
- Political Leanings: I hold to beliefs typically thought of as “small-o” orthodox within the reformed tradition (e.g., I hold to a consistent life ethic). I almost always lean liberal in other areas (e.g., immigration).
- A few other things:
- I’m 5’1”
- I’m decently healthy but would like to exercise more for strength and long-term health!
- I'm Wasian — 50% Korean, 50% Greek. My Korean grandparents and Greek great-grandparents immigrated to the States, and I think cultural identity is a gift!
- I am an Enneagram 3w2 (but I present more as a 2). I’m an ENFJ-A but too close to the middle in most categories for that to feel relevant.
- Introverted when it comes to how I recharge, but I’m an externalizer in how I process and am very people-motivated.
- I have two brothers, a sister-in-law, and parents who live nearby. I’m particularly close with my mom.
- I’m organized in the “makes lists / spreadsheets, remembers birthdays, and organizes plans” way, but not in the “I put everything away as soon as I’m done using it” way.
- Some values I particularly care about for myself and others are integrity, humility and a willingness to admit “I was wrong,” intellectual honesty, vulnerability, and authenticity.

I threw some axes that were more centered, but they didn’t let me take photos of those 😔

who I’m looking for
- I’m looking to date someone who is A) a protestant Christian who professes the Apostles’ Creed B) committed to his relationship with God and C) involved in his local church. For secondary issues, I value curiosity, thoughtful dialog, and shared spiritual growth above perfect alignment.
- I’m not trying to speedrun marriage, but I believe that dating is best when done intentionally. I’d love to be with someone who approaches relationships thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with a long-term mindset.
- Relationally, I’m drawn to people who are gentle, smart, hardworking, and able to communicate openly and non-defensively.
- I historically have gotten along well with men who work in STEM or play videogames, but those are definitely not requirements ᴗ̈
- I’m not into LDR, so I think I’d only consider people living in Boston or NYC at the moment… but I’m open to changing my mind on this for an exceptionally good fit!
