Background

As highlighted by the ****Advisory Board process, the Livepeer data landscape is fragmented across explorers, dashboards, and ad-hoc scripts, with critical metrics missing or inconsistent.

This limits all stakeholders—delegators, node operators, developers, researchers, and governance participants—from making fully informed, data-driven decisions about staking, building, or investing in the network.

This document outlines the high-level roadmap to close these gaps, providing the trusted, comprehensive data foundation needed for the next phase of network growth and adoption.

Explorer Limitations

The Livepeer Explorer currently lacks visibility into several essential dimensions:

• Tokenomics – No breakdown of LPT issuance, inflation, staking dynamics, or participant incentives.
• Governance – Missing data on proposals, voting power distribution, participation metrics, treasury size, and risk exposure.
• Gateways – No insight into active gateways, fee structures, performance, job routing, or types of workloads handled.
• Network Performance – No real-time visibility into latency, response times, or job-level success rates.
• Supply Metrics – Limited transparency into total GPU supply, node quality, or geographic distribution.
• Marketplace Metrics – No way to see what jobs are being executed or can be executed on the network.

Broader Ecosystem Data Gaps

Beyond the Explorer, critical operational data is also missing:

• Fee Breakdown by Job Type – The on-chain data model does not distinguish between job categories (e.g., AI vs. video), preventing granular analysis of demand.
