This section describes in brief how the data collection process works and how it will be presented on our website and mobile app.
Structure of our Database
Our data repository consists of an Airtable where all the resources will be stored in a post format. For Phase 1 (our initial scope) we will focus on:
- Apps and Websites - Information on apps and websites humans can visit to get access to information or resources about a pandemic.
- Tools for Builders - Information on tools that are available for free or a heavily discounted price for volunteers and organizations building products to help their local communities (or humanity in general) fight a pandemic.
- Projects and Initiatives - Links to projects, initiatives or aggregators of these. This is where volunteers and organizations can go to learn about, lead or join a project.
- Funding - Links to grants, loans and other types of funding available for pandemic-related initiatives.
- Tax and Debt Relief - Tax incentives, debt relief and other programs designed to provide some kind of relief to humans and organizations suffering from the pandemic.
- Community Groups - Links to groups of humans around the world that are getting together to fight back
All this information is grouped into a post format so it can be presented on the feed. More information in Data Overview.
Location on the Website/APP
The data will be located in the feed section in a post format. When a user looking for non-medical help or wanting to help access the website, they should eventually see a feed with the different posts with resources humans and organizations have added. This feed is based on the information we have on the Airtable.
Initially, the feed will use all the data sourced by the FightPandemics team.
Feed Example
Below is an example of how the data should be surfaced on our mobile app.
