Definition of a Data Breach

A data breach is a security incident that results in the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access to personal data. Examples of data breaches include:

• Theft or loss of devices containing personal data
• Unauthorized access to personal data by a third party
• Unintended disclosure of personal data to a third party
• Accidental alteration or deletion of personal data

Reporting a Data Breach

If you become aware of a data breach or have reason to believe that a data breach has occurred, you must report it immediately to our Data Team at [email protected].

The report should include the following information:

• Date and time of the breach
• Description of the breach
• Type of personal data affected
• Number of individuals affected
• Potential consequences of the breach
• Immediate actions taken to contain the breach
• Contact details of the person reporting the breach

Investigation and Assessment

Upon receipt of a data breach report, our DPO will initiate an investigation to assess the nature and scope of the breach. This investigation may involve collecting additional information, working with internal and external teams, and engaging with data subjects and supervisory authorities as necessary.
