Why we made the product:

With the spread of social media and online platforms such as Twitch and OnlyFans, it's now easier than ever for artists and creators to share their work online.

But there is one downside—it's becoming easier for people to steal online content as well.

In fact, copyright infringement is so common that Google receives **75,000,000** Digital Millennium Copyright Act requests every month.

<aside> đź’ˇ What is a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Takedown notice? It's a formal notice that creators can send, demanding websites to take down stolen content immediately. It's effective because it gets the Internet Service Providers involved (i.e. Google, Youtube, GoDaddy), so that even if the content stealer doesn't personally take down the content, the ISPs can shut down their website directly.

While the DMCA in theory is great, actually using it is a complex process. You need the proper letter format, you need to include the correct "good faith" and "accuracy" statement, and you need to find the contact for the company's DMCA agent or ISP.

There are no free websites that do this for you and hiring a professional lawyer can cost hundreds.

Which is why DoNotPay has created a better, more affordable alternative: an automated DMCA Takedown product. All the user has to do is provide information about the stolen material and the infringing website, and DoNotPay will automatically generate a DMCA Takedown notice and email it to the appropriate DMCA agent to ensure that your online content is protected.

How to use the product:

1. Search "DMCA Takedown" on DoNotPay

2. Enter basic information, including the title of your work, your website, and the infringing website.

3. Verify the Good Faith and Accuracy statements with your signature.

4. DoNotPay will automatically generate a formal DMCA Takedown notice on your behalf and email it to the proper DMCA agent who is in charge of handling cases for that website.

In most cases, once the DMCA agent receives your notice, the content will immediately be taken down from the infringing website. If they need further information, they may reach out to you by email.
