I write about art because I believe the stories behind creative work deserve as much attention as the work itself. Across exhibitions, publications, and cultural events, I document, critique, and amplify what Nigerian and African artists are making and why it matters.

Some of my work experiences are listed below.

Intern, June Creative Art Advisory

June Creative Art Advisory is a Lagos-based art advisory and collections management practice working with private collectors and artists. I joined as an intern, supporting collection management and assisting with the logistical and technical aspects of artwork handling and installation.

My responsibilities were:

  1. Catalogued and maintained a private collector's art collection, documenting artworks and ensuring accurate records to support collection management and preservation.
  2. Assisted with artwork installation, deinstallation, wrapping, and handling, working closely with the team to ensure the safe transportation, presentation, and care of artworks across various settings.
  3. Supported day-to-day collection and exhibition operations, contributing to the efficient management and physical stewardship of contemporary art objects.

Contributing Writer, Kurating Magazine

Kurating Magazine is a Lagos-based art publication dedicated to documenting and critically engaging with Nigerian contemporary art. I joined in March 2026 as a writer on a six-month commission, producing analytical essays and critical cultural criticism.

My responsibilities are:

  1. Research, report and write long-form analytical essays on Nigerian contemporary art, drawing on primary sources including artists, gallerists and curators, and secondary sources including scholarship and exhibition writing.)
  2. Work closely with the editorial team to develop briefs, refine angles, and produce writing that advances how Nigerian contemporary art is understood by its audiences.
