“A black belt is built by the culture they train in.
Discipline and respect are the invisible techniques behind every belt.”

🕌 1. Entering the mat – Respect for the Space
The mat (academy) is not just a gym — it’s a space of transformation.
Every action inside it should reflect gratitude and respect.
Protocol:
- Ask permission to entering and leaving the mats — a silent thank you for the space that keeps you safe and helps you grow.
- Keep your shoes off the mat and feet clean at all times.
- Greet your instructor and training partners with eye contact and courtesy.
- Keep uniforms (Gi or No-Gi gear) clean, dry, and odour-free.
- Arrive on time. If late, wait by the mat until the instructor gives permission to join.
- Never leave the mat without the instructor’s consent.
- Phones silent. Personal conversations stay off the mats.
💭 The way you walk onto the mat sets the tone for your training.
🧘 2. Personal Conduct & Appearance
Jiu-Jitsu teaches that discipline starts with how you present yourself.
Your uniform, attitude, and posture should represent your respect for the art.
Expectations:
- Keep nails short and clean to prevent injuries.
- Tie your belt properly — it represents your commitment.
