what is web3?

biggest difference is that you monteize and own your own information. its not facebook selling it to advertiseres awesome, but what is web3 built on?

Blockchain

Blockchain is an immutable, digital ledger that facilitates the process of recording transactions and tracking assets in a network. Transactions are rolled up and recorded as a block - connected to the ones before and after of it. They timestamp transactions and link them together

essentially its a way to record transactions and has 3 main components:

• Distributed - organized and displayed to everyone
  • All the computers in the network can see the data
• Immutable: transactions can never be changed or hidden
  • This is accomplished by the blocks being added together as the asset move/change. Each additional block strengthens verification
