A crop represents a single plant or planting in your garden. Each crop has its own AI conversation history, session logs, and progress tracking.
From a garden’s page, tap Add crop. Fill in as much or as little as you like:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Crop name | Required. E.g. “Tomatoes”, “Basil”, “Courgette” |
| Variety | Optional. E.g. “Sungold”, “Genovese”, “Defender F1” |
| Bed location | Optional. E.g. “Raised bed 2”, “South corner”, “Pot on patio” |
| Sow date | Optional. The date you sowed or transplanted. |
| Expected harvest date | Optional. GrowLog uses this to send a harvest reminder as the date approaches. |
| Notes | Optional. Anything else you want to remember about this planting. |
Tap Save to add the crop.
Every crop has one of three statuses, shown as a badge:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Growing | Active and in progress (default) |
| Harvested | You’ve brought in the crop |
| Failed | The crop didn’t make it |
You can update the status at any time by editing the crop.
From a crop’s page, tap the Edit button (pencil icon) to update any field — name, variety, bed location, dates, notes, or status. Tap Save to confirm.
Tap a crop card from the garden view to open it. The crop page shows:
