Voice Input in Chat
Instead of typing, you can speak your observations directly into the chat. This is especially useful when your hands are dirty from the garden.
How to Use Voice Input
- Open any crop’s chat page
- Tap the microphone button in the input bar (next to the photo button)
- Speak your observation or question naturally
- Tap the microphone button again to stop recording
- Your words appear in the text field — review them, then tap Send
What to Expect While Recording
- The microphone button turns amber/orange while it’s listening
- An animated ring pulses around the button to show it’s active
- The text field placeholder changes to “Listening…”
- Your words appear in the text field in real time as you speak — you can watch the transcription happen live
Combining Voice and Text
Voice input adds your spoken words to whatever is already in the text field. This means you can:
- Type part of a message, then tap the mic to speak the rest
- Speak, stop, then edit the transcription before sending
- Remove or rewrite any part of the transcription in the text field before hitting Send
