An intergenerational, interactive gathering of media creators for learning, conversation, and connection: Presentations, workshops, and discussions from high school and college students as well as leading professionals.
The media programs at Philadelphia's Dobbins Career & Tech High School and Temple University’s Klein College present an intergenerational, interactive gathering of media creators for learning, conversation, and connection. The event will feature short presentations, workshops, and discussions.
Students from Dobbins High School and Klein College are featured with professionals and organizations from across the field, including a central presentation by Cheldin Barlatt Rumer, CEO and Executive Producer of This is it Network, a global, female and minority owned digital TV network.
Breakout sessions will be hosted by WHYY, Philly's PBS and ****NPR ****station, Michael O'Bryan, Director of Learning at the Village of Arts and Humanities and Urban Innovative Fellow at Drexel University, and Little Giant Creative, a creative agency led by Meegan Denenberg and Tayyib Smith, leaders in social enterprise.
The Symposium aims to amplify students’ voices and work while providing an engaging and enriching pre-professional experience. It also provides an intimate space for local media leaders to connect with Philadelphia’s next generation of media makers and build community as we create the future together.
The inaugural event will be virtual, but the hope is to set off a recurring tradition and plant the seeds of long-term connections and relationships across disciplines and zip codes.
