Create a Project
This tutorial guides you to create a project. There are a few things to check in order to do so. So follow the instructions.
Before you create a project
The only way to create a project is through a Contact. If the contact (or caller) does not exist in the system, then you MUST create the contact first.
1) Does the Project already exist in the system?
Before you do anything, it matters to check if the project already exists since other users could have created the project already. Search under “Projects” tab using Project Name, Address, Contact, Phone, or Company Name.
- If the project already exists in the system, then make the updates necessary, even if it’s just adding a short note under Project Description to know that the contact called again.
- If the project does not exist in the system, then you must create it. To do so, first see if the contact exists in the system.
2) Does the Caller already exist in the system?
Search for the contact info under the “Contacts” tab. You can search by contact First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email, or Company Name if the contact belongs to a company.
- If the contact does exist in the system, great! Enter the “Contact Details” page (by clicking on the [Details] button) and at the bottom of the page, where the Projects are listed and click on the [Create Project] button to create the project. Follow the 2-step process, explained here.
- If the contact does not exist in the system, then you must create them first.
3) Does the Caller belong to a company or are they a homeowner?
- If the contact is calling on behalf of a company (if they’re a contractor, part of a company, or calling for their commercial project) then first check if the company exists.
- If the contact is a homeowner or individual, then create a contact in the system by clicking on the [Create Contact] button under the “Contacts” tab.
