This winter is… just too warm.
No snow is falling, and the ski slopes are all closed. No snowmen, no snowball fights.
“This isn’t a real winter at all…”
So I decided to head into space. My rocket? Of course, I drew it with my crayon.
Looking down at Earth, I drew a big circle in the sky— a giant refrigerator.
Click… A huge door closed, and Earth became chilly and cool.
Before long— “Snow!” “Hooray!” All across Japan, everyone cheered.
Skiing was back. Snowmen popped up everywhere. Even the kotatsu finally felt right again.
But, meanwhile, down south…
Capybaras in South America shivered and shook. Elephants in Africa covered their ears with their trunks.
“Uh-oh…”
So, I went back to space again.
This time, just a little bit. I drew a small refrigerator around only the North and South Poles.
It was a funny shape—long and kind of wobbly. But that was the very best I could do.
Clack… The little fridge gently wrapped the north and south.
Earth grew warm and cozy again.
“Hey, this sky crayon is amazing, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. But I can’t draw everything… So I’ll just try to keep the really important places cool.”
